Red tide

Just because you cannot see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
Just because you cannot see it doesn’t make it go away….
An animal tortured,
frightened, in pain.
Silent enduring, behind closed doors a device in his brain
Who is his mother?
I’m so ashamed.
Have we humans all lost our hearts and souls?
Or are we merely insane?
Oh… Red Tide!

I drive down the highway
Up drives a truck.
Pigs stacked in steel grey boxes
and they’re all terror struck.
Where are they going? Why such a fate?
Are we so eager for cash quick kills to fill our dinner plates?

Well, it’s an animal nightmare
And the Gestapo is here
And he piously quoting scripture that says
he is the steward of earth.
But steward means lover to all in your care.
And if you’re looking to pass the blame then stop,
Because it’s living right here
Oh… Red Tide!
