Places only animals can go

Becca’s in her room again
she won’t come out and she won’t answer
she stares outside her window as some vague spot or place and she rocks
mother took her to the doctor
the doctor told her not to worry
well, maybe he’s just blind cause when I look into her eyes she’s gone
a condition of a broken heart and soul

It was the cat that broke through
he sat upon her lap and looked into her eyes
patiently he waited and he never left her side
she began to hold him near
melt her fears
healing tears flowing he came back to life

Hey, you’ve got a friend here no need to worry it is alright...

Harold’s family got so tired
they put Harold in a home
well, maybe it was reasonable, but all that Harold knows is he’s alone
Harold will not eat his food
Harold always looks away
Maybe he’s just doing time for living out the crime of growing old
A condition of a broken heart and soul

A kindly friend brought in a dog one day
with wagging tail and loving eyes
Harold took one look at him and felt a surge of life
They became inseparable
That dog brought back meaning to Harold’s life

Hey, you’ve got a friend here, no need to worry, it is alright....
This may come as know surprise,
but there are places only Animals can go.
