| It is understandable that some people may not agree with everything on this website. We are all humans after all, and sometimes we do not agree on what constitutes human rights, let alone animal rights. The site is intended to convince people, but we do recognise that people have different backgrounds, customs (which are sometimes difficult to change) or ideas, and some people are harder to convince than others. What's more, we may be mistaken on some issues ourselves, and we should welcome constructive criticism. What people should also keep in mind, is that animal rights campaigning has a unique difficulty. Since we are campaigning for the rights of non-human animals who cannot speak to us, we do not have the advantage of being corrected by the individuals on whose behalf we are campaigning. And since we are not perfect, we might not present the case for animal rights in the best way. It is for this reason that we kindly ask that if anyone is not convinced by our arguments, please look for other views in other animal rights websites (see the links page) or books (see Suggested Reading through the index page). Where we might fail, we hope other campaigners will succeed. Also, if one does not agree with some animal rights issues, one should not be discouraged to campaign for other issues. Unfortunately, non-human animal abuse is so widespread and daily performed, that one campaigner less is a great loss. So if one disagrees with some issues, after spending a reasonable time in researching the issues and thinking them over, one should focus on other issues and do one's part on the issues one feels convinced on. For instance, if one has not yet been convinced in becoming a vegetarian, one should not be discouraged to campaign against the cruelty of the "fur trade", or hunting, or cruelty on pet animals, or any other issue dealing with non-human animal abuse or animal rights. We hope that this website will convince you to do your bit in the struggle for the rights of defenceless animals. Do not underestimate your ability to improve the world you live in. Every little helps...if it's more than little, so much the better. |
